Sounds amazing! Clean flat pressing. Dynamic with a nice sound stage. It has a full, warm and rich sound. This one was done right!
The Sleeve is great and gatefold. A little bit fuzzy compared to 1st pressings of the CD Album but not as saturated as the 'Complete Studio Albums Collection' Boxset Sleeve. A softer and more dreamlike pressing and not as hard looking as the 1st Edition. The Inersleeve its glossy and Thick. And can put up with the edges of the Lp. Soundwise, its gorgeous and well balanced. It seems to have been cut at a lower volume to give dynamics, you'll find yourself turning up the volume in comparison to 'Like A Prayer' or 'Madonna'. Few clicks or pops in my edition. The surface looks glossy, clean and plays smoothly, only a few skips at the end of 'Don't Stop', even after cleaning the Lp. Don't know if accounts for a faulty pressing run or just my copy. Must be said Side 2 runs quite a bit and 'Take A Bow' suffers a bit from near-label positioning. Mostly an overall lack of bass. Seems a different mix was used, Madonna's vocals are extremely frontalized. If you are on a turntable with autostop it will cut off the last seconds of 'Take A Bow' as there is almost no run out groove and the mechanisms take some of the recorded grooves as them. The Lp is heavy. A true 180 Grms. From all the Reissues I got, this one (Probably because of the Gatefold) feels the heaviest. A good way to get the album on Lp.
everything you said is presented on my copy as well, especially last few seconds of 'take a bow'.I guess it's no point to try to get another copy.
Arguably Madonna's best album, in my opinion very close to the consistent quality level found in "True Blue". I was so excited to stumble onto this reissue in the local mall. Its a gatefold single vinyl with artwork on all sides of the gatefold. It also comes with an insert containing full lyrics. Mostly hip-hop and RnB beats as Babyface was involved in the production of many of the tracks. The exception being Bedtime Story which reeks of mid 90's ecstacy driven "big beat" electronica influence. "Forbidden Love" takes the cake with some of the smoothest most buttery vocals I've ever heard.
I agree, TB and BTS are their peak on studio recordings.Regarding 'Bedtime' song is very good, but too björkish for Madonna herself.
Phallozs Dwarfs
noffin can be better than the 1st press . this 1ne sounds like boolshit imho
Hard to take your review seriously since you can't even write in English properly....
Not quite truly the US edition. The LP is made in EU and but the original US/international catalog no. 1-45767 with an R in front to indicate reissue is printed on the spine and the inner sleeve. The European version is exactly the same but has barcode number reflected on the spine and the inner sleeve instead. That's about the only difference. For the rest of the so-called US reissues, the LPs are made in EU and the catalog no. reflected on the spine and inner sleeve are the original US/international barcode numbers. The printed info at the bottom of all reissues omit the Made in U.S.A. line.
yep ...Pressed By – Optimal Media GmbH (GERMANY) . . .
I just got my copy from an European store and the sticker is different. It says: 180 gram vinyl, includes Secret, Take a Bow, Bedtime Story. 081227973544
its common for Rhino to release a US pressing and an EU pressing.
I was under the impression that the artwork on this was going to be upside-down as per the initial US cd release?
Tyler Is Not Here
The upside-down artwork was from the repressing. The first pressing erroneously showed her face right-side up, just like this release.
Hmm. I don't think that I will bother then :)
I thought this as well, even when I ordered the image of the artwork was upside-down, which was part of the reason I ordered. As much as I like they did it to the original, a part of me also thought "Bugga"
This is my absolute favorite Madonna album and I'm thrilled it's finally been reissued. My copy looks and sounds utterly exquisite.
let me see : warped or scratched lp??, inner sleeve(plain)??,..lots of background noise??..low volume??....I hope i` m wrong about this..
It has a separate high-quality inner sleeve plus a replica of the original. The quality is great, very little pops/noise. Playing mine on a new Stanton 680 HP and it's perfect. It's interesting how Bedtime Stories is out selling all the other Madonna 180 Gram LPs of 2016.
I don't notice any background noise, sounds wonderful, but the volume seems to be very low. Otherwise very beautiful and gorgeous!
so..i was wrong ..I have an original pressing,too... German version,(not pic.),sound great!
Funny duck
I have an original pressing as well. The outer sleeve looks exactly as the original if you ask me. They are both kinda fuzzy. Mine also came in a nice rice paper inner w/ the artwork sleeve included seperately. I'm not noticing any surface noise. Mine came clean as a whistle (for a change) and sounds great! Spinning it right now.
There's little background noise. Comes with two sleeves: the original one on glossy paper, and a rice paper sleeve. LP was pristine, volume levels are good. Artwork looks soft and not as sharp, but that's nitpicking.
