Of course the original is an untouchable, off-the-hook disco tune, but if you make abstraction from that and locate the Roach Motel Mix of the Fire Island version in its early 90s camp/queeny garage house context...well it's a masterpiece! The bassline, perfectly lifted from CeCe Rogers' "Someday", fits ideally with Love Nelson's vocals (with lyrics slightly retouched from the original who wasnt 'poppin pills' if my memory is correct), which are a mutant, postsexual plastic-dub delight, resulting in a monster tune still relevant nowadays : one can feel its direct influence almost 20 years later on contemporary productions such as Azari & III's "Reckless (With Your Love)". That one will stay!

while this is solid garage house, the original from 1979 is such a brilliant disco tune that this version pales in comparison, no disrespect to mr. heller.

Ahem, the original is surely Kid Creole and coconuts , there but for the grace of god ? but the machine version does pump !
