Great sounding lp. Does anyone know how many of these were printed? I remember having to source one which wasn’t difficult, but nor was it overly easy at the time. Now it appears to be available easily. Amazon have it in stock for £17.99
Such a cool release! The sound quality is great - zero surface noise. Also, the packaging is beautiful. The plastic slipcase with a printed pattern on the front and tracklist/logos on the back. I am finding very interesting design decision to make a logo for each song - it looks awesome. And the lyric sheet that looks like a page from a cheap magazine that selling stuff we don't need. I am giving 5 stars, very happy with this purchase.
It's a good clear pressing but to my ears it suffers from too much compression in the mix - I was really expecting it to 'pop' more, especially on vinyl. Maybe it's more obvious because of the music this album makes reference to, a lot of which is extremely dynamic and well recorded (ABBA for instance). That aside, it's a great record that is growing on me with every listen which I guess is the important thing!
I mean compression and EQ during mastering, both of which can be done in the analogue domain (but almost certainly weren't). I've not read anywhere that this was an analogue recording - that's cool if so, but not what I'm talking about and at any rate it's pretty unlikely it wouldn't have been transferred to digital for at least part of the process.
They record literally everything analog so I dunno what you are talking about compressed. They painstakingly made an analog album
Very high quality pressing, you will not be disappointed with the sound on this one
Superb pressing. Really stunning sound i heard in a while
from earth
Mine is so dish warped that if it wasn't for the spindle hole I could eat soup out of it. Nice job GZ...
It happened. On the third run through of this album, while I was mowing the grass, it clicked. Like all great albums, they don't hit at first. They grow on you. I'm really digging Everything Now. The vinyl pressing is superb. It's just what I needed now. It's everything
This. Silly me thinking this album was "simpler" than Reflektor... it's a grower and Regine's voice might be an acquired taste but fits perfectly well with the band's new electro-pop direction. I love it!
Agreed , it started kickin' on the third and then it kept building ! Am still listening to it on quite a daily basis , Arcade Fire has done it again , such talent showcased in drastically different aesthetics , I luv that degree of diversity , great !!!!!!!!
Did anyone else get a "creature comforts" cereal box with their album? (I got it from Rough Trade West in London).
no but i want one! i love all that promotional stuff
I didn't, maybe it is a rough trade extra. You should upload pictures :D
Well, this one is a great pressing! Superb sound, no surface noise and a stunning, beautiful blue colour
If somebody had told me that Arcade Fire were releasing an album of mainly electro pop funky disco with a slight bit of reggae I would have been intrigued but probably would have decided to give it a miss. They actually do it rather well and although it's Everything now isn't a five star album, it's still pretty good and it shows Arcade Fire are capable of doing a lot of different styles extremely well. I can't fault this pressing either. It's superb!
a handful of songs are good, but overall this album feels very, very weak.
Very very weak? Why 3 stars then? Whats 2 stars..... very very very weak?
Sounds fantastic.. no noise at all on this pressing. Buy it!
Mastered at Sterling, Pressed at GZ?! Glad reports are good so far though.
Their best album in years. The sound quality on the vinyl is superb and the packaging is gorgeous. My only complaint is that there's no download code included.
Anyone know how many copies this was "limited" to? Can't find information about it anywhere
Preordered this album from Sandbag (the band's distributor) on June 2. Still haven't received the album and today is release day. I'd advise you to go to your local record shop to buy it. Don't support greedy distributors that can't ship out in a timely manner. They didn't even reply to my support request. Buyer beware.
Same here. Very disappointing! Last time I do this with Sandbag LTD. Plus you end up paying $8 extra for shipping. Lame
Oh man, Sandbag suck. So many issues with them over the years, mainly due to insufficient packaging (needlessly trashed sleeves) and wrong formatversion etc. They have a tendency just to refund and let you keep the trashed item. I have no idea if the bands know this and it just gets rolled into the distro costs. If you're a band, don't bother. Now, Greedbag by comparison; faultless.
Bullmoose folks: Good for you for receiving the album on release day. That's not the reason i posted this message. I posted it to draw attention to the fact that Sandbag, the distributor, does not ship out in a timely manner.
Ordered from Bullmoosde and got it the day after release day.
Update: Got a reply; "I have checked the status of your order and it is currently on hold as we are awaiting stock. As soon as we receive the stock back into our warehouse we will be sending out your order. You will receive a confirmation email once your item has been dispatched." I don't ever plan on ordering from Sandbag if this is how they do business.
I am having the same issue. As of today 7/29, it has been given to the shipping partner with no estimated arrival time. I got no response to my inquiry either, but I did request my shipping refunded due to their laziness.
Funny duck
I ordered from Bullmoose and got it today. Comments need 10 words.
Stunning packaging / artwork, lovely colour vinyl and it sounds incredible! Lovely and clear with loads of range and bass. I've had it on repeatedly all day :-)
That pvc cover is there for no reason - useless plastic that has to be burn ..
It's also useful to help protect the cover from wear and tear, plus I personally really like the added touch of the printed thing on the back!
I think it's a nice touch. It's part of the artwork.
Stunning album, superb production and a gorgeous blue pressing. Currently stuck on repeat.
