Rob Shanahan is one of the most published photographers in the music industry.
His photos have appeared Worldwide in numerous ad campaigns, CD/DVD covers, books, and magazines.
He is Ringo Starr’s personal photographer and has been working with him since 2006.
In 2008 he accompanied Ringo to Liverpool to document his return home and string of performances in the “Liverpool – 2008 City of Culture” festivities. Rob recently photographed and designed Ringo’s latest record; “Y-Not” released January of 2010. This summer’s 2010 All Starr tour will be his 3rd tour with Ringo.
As chief photographer for Yamaha Music Corporation since 2005, Rob has photographed hundreds of Yamaha endorsed artists including Elton John, Barry Manilow, Sammy Hagar, Alicia Keyes, Jason Mraz, Natalie Cole, Sarah MacLachlan, and many more. His photographs for Yamaha have appeared in advertising campaigns in the US, UK and Japan, and Yamaha’s “All Access” publication.
Rob got his first drum kit when he was 11 and his first camera when he was 12 and has been doing both professionally since 1988. His sensitivities as a musician has made him the first call photographer for many of the world’s top artists: Van Halen, Motley Crue, Fleetwood Mac, Toto, the Police, Sheila E, Christina Augilera and many others.
Rob lives in Venice, California with his wife and daughter.
