Born in Newcastle, NSW, Greg began his career working on newspapers & magazines in his home town, in Sydney followed by a four year stretch in London as the European photographer for the Fairfax group.
Moving to the Melbourne magazine world in the late ’70′s the focus of Greg’s work change to concentrating on the Australian music industry doing promotional band shots and record covers, shooting on set at the ABC’s ‘Countdown’ and staying out late photographing nearly all the Aussie bands of the time including Hunters and Collectors, Australian Crawl, Men at Work and Cold Chisel.
His work with ‘Cold Chisel’ produced four record covers, both ‘Breakfast at Sweethearts’ and ‘East’ winning consecutive awards as ‘Album Covers of the Year’.
Greg now works mostly in the film and television world and doesn’t stay out as late as he once did.
