Professor David Montgomery is a celebrated award winning photographer. Heralded by Q Magazine as having produced some of the most iconic images of the Sixties, David is internationally renowned as one of the most legendary photographers of all time. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended photography courses run by Alexi Brodevitch and worked for the award winning photographer, Lester Bookbinder for four years, following him to England in 1959 where he took up residence in London with his family and resides still.

David’s outstanding archive includes HM Queen Elizabeth II, Baroness Thatcher, Cardinal Basil Hume, Bing Crosby, Bill Clinton, Diana Ross, Jean Shrimpton, Lucian Freud, Francis Bacon, Muhammad Ali, Sir Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Alfred Hitchcock, Andy Warhol, Gilbert & George, Professor Stephen Hawkin, The Who, The Clash and Chrissie Hynde to name a few.

David has contributed regularly to Vogue, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, Rolling Stone, and Mojo. David was also commissioned by the Post Office, to photograph a special edition award-winning stamp for the millennium. His Andy Warhol images are part of the permanent archive of the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, USA. In 2010 David he began mentoring as head of the photography Masterclasses for The Guardian. His extensive archive of Country & Western stars spanning four decades is due to be published in a limited edition book later this year.
