Chris Dreja is rock royalty. A founding member of the legendary Yardbirds the bass and rhythm guitarist is credited as co-writer for many of the bands songs, most notably on the album, Roger the Engineer for which he also created the illustrated cover artwork. Turning down Jimmy Page’s offer to be bassist in his new band, Led Zeppelin, Chris chose to follow a career in photography and was commissioned by the band to shoot the back cover of Led Zeppelin’s debut album. His associations with Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Keith Relf, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and Peter Grant provided him with unrivaled access to the rock legends, creating rare and intimate images of his fellow band members and associates. Several of his rare and unseen images were chosen by Jimmy Page as part of his limited edition photo biography book, in collaboration with Genesis Publishing, which sold out in hours.

Chris’ passion for photography matched his success as a musician and provided him with an award-winning career spanning four decades. In 1968 he was instrumental in setting up the Association of Fashion and Advertising Photographers, which is now one of the most prestigious professional photographers associations in the world.

Chris continues to tour internationally with the Yardbirds, successfully combining his music career with photography. He is one of the select few to be inducted into the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and when he is not touring with the band Chris Dreja lives with his wife in London.
